We spent a lovely afternoon in Penang’s National Park (Taman Negara Pulau Pinang)

Pantai Kerachut Jetty, Penang National Park

Swings on Monkey beach, Penang National Park

Don’t forget to hug a tree 🎄
There are plenty of outdoor activities for the adventurer in Penang.
Today we spent the afternoon hiking to Pantai Kerachut and a boat trip to Monkey beach for a relaxing drink by the beach before heading home.
Taman Negara Pulau Pinang is possibly the world’s smallest national park. It’s not a difficult hike and the trails are easy to follow and well marked.
I highly recommend taking a boat trip back to the entrance at Teluk Bahang jetty. It makes the overall experience better, I promise.
Where: Penang National Park, Teluk Bahang. (free except if you hire the boat)
Price of Boat trip: Rm 100 per boat from Pantai Kerachut to Teluk Bahang via Monkey beach stopover. Sits up to 10 people.
Time to Hike to Pantai Kerachut: 50 mins

Meromictic Lake at Pantai Kerachut, Penang national Park.
*This is a lake where the fresh water and sea water meet but because of the different densities of the water, the water doesn’t mix and creates two layers.
