Blue. Is definitely Penang island’s colour. Azure, Aquamarine, Teal, Indigo, Electric, Lapis Lazuli, Midnight, Nile Blue, Sapphire, Sky, Turquoise …with sprinkles of bronze , gold and silver or Earth. This year we welcomed 2021 with splashes of blue at the Angsana Teluk Bahang.
Angsana Teluk Bahang is a 5 star luxury resort managed by the Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts , an international hospitality brand managing more than 48 resorts and hotels, 64 spas, 74 retail galleries and golf courses in 28 countries. The much anticipated resort is locally-inspired from design to dining menus. This island get-away includes five restaurants and bars, friendly facilities for families and/ or corporate clients , infinity pool, children’s pool and family pool, and an ambitious holistic wellness centre (still in development) across pedestrian link bridge .
The Lobby
Driving from the centre of George Town to Angsana will take about 40 mins. Through the winding roads of the coast of Batu Ferringhi and straight into the car park (free for guests). Taking the lobby lift up brings you to the open blueness of the beach and coolness of the grand lobby.

Angsana Gallery shop carries a range of gifts, souvenirs, their signature spa amenities, quality merchandises (so worth a curious wander in), from fashion apparels and home furnishings to jewelry and classic accessories.

Accommodations vary in size and rate, from a cosy 38 sqm Superior to the luxurious Two-bedroom Sky Garden penthouse suite with an outdoor jet tub, all in a grandioso spanking space of 238 sqm . Room rates are on promotional offer and the best available rates run until the 31 December 2022.

The Bathroom
Bathroom space is as equally important as the rest of the bedroom space. Aside from the usual shower after a beachy day , a good night’s rest is determined by the pre-wind-down ritual in the bathroom. Big mirrors, stand alone tubs, toiletries to fiddle or sample and beautiful lighting to show off the sun kissed tan of the day. Something happens between the time you walk into the bathroom and out a while later , a transition from day to night and the anticipation for more evening adventures.
The Rooms with a view
Not all rooms will have a balcony, but ALL rooms have a sea view. Waking up to witness diamonds floating in the sea as the sun comes up, then the day will break to embrace the sunset as the day glows from orange to gold.
Eco Notes
A salute and appreciation to yesteryears. This hallway separates the hotel rooms from the residences at Angsana. The panelling show cases up cycled old telephone poles covering floor to ceiling. How we must never forget how far we have come and preserve as much history and resources earth and time have given us. What a touching tribute to heritage !
The Grounds
We still had lots more ground to discover at the new resort but ran out of time! The ambiance will want to drag you to the beach, it took so much will power to leave the resort. Wonderfully landscaped to enhance the easy lifestyle the sea and breeze offers, everything sways and dances to the natural light.
Food and Beverage
There are 5 F&B venues on the premise to enjoy. Each with different traits and offers. We recommend dressing up for No 11 , for at least one of your nights . We’re due back for a restaurant review in a few weeks and excited about the prospect to meet the chef and another chance to visit Angsana at Teluk Bahang. Watch this space !
