Saturday 7th July 2018. Today we celebrated George Town, Penang’s 10th year anniversary since its inception as a Unesco world heritage city.

There were workshops, performances, heritage walks and food bazaars around the unesco heritage core zone throughout the evening.

As Penang locals, we are fiercely proud of our heritage. Heritage for us is not just the food and buildings. It is about our traditions, our culture, our people and our dialects.

Never forget why our ancestors came to Penang. They came looking for a brighter future and they embraced the new land and moved forwards by adapting and mixing with the many other cultures that people from different ethnicities inherited
