There has been an underlying growl on change in this part of town. Street markets play a big role in our heritage, it is part of our grotty happy magnetic Asian charm ; meat, fish, poultry , vegetables, all unceremoniously displayed to be sold at cheap prices. Used or mass produced old school household items are slipped in between todays trendy gadgets like the fidget spinners (which I got for my son) . The old Aunties manning the stall didn’t even know what fidget spinners are, I was impressed by how fast they were to source for them.

More importantly, the street market community is a bunch of good people working day in and day out, supporting their family, friends and our economy through trade. Its where friends catch up, network, gossip and wish each other well. Its where they keep informed with world matters, or grumble in unison about the rising costs of living. Its where we congratulate each other on new births or cry together in condolence.
